God’s Voice Above All Others

We must be careful not to chase spiritual leaders, seeking a word from them as though they hold the key to our future. No prophet, pastor, or teacher was ever meant to replace the voice of God in our lives.
Yes, God has given gifts to His people. Prophecy, encouragement, discernment, wisdom, these are beautiful and biblical.
But the gift must never take the place of the Giver.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
John 10:27
God desires a personal relationship with you. He is not distant, silent, or unreachable. Through Jesus and the gift of the Holy Spirit, He speaks directly to His children.
“You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth.”
1 John 2:20
I’ve always loved attending the prophetic ministry at the Church we used to attend before moving. It was a place of encouragement, prayer, and spiritual growth. However, this church had always been very clear on one vital truth: every word spoken must be tested, and confirmation must be sought from God Himself.
“Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good.”
1 Thessalonians 5:20–21
It is powerful when a brother or sister speaks life into us. Encouragement strengthens the body, and prophecy—when pure—can build, exhort, and comfort. But Scripture never instructs us to blindly accept a word without discernment.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”
1 John 4:1
Never allow someone else’s voice to outweigh God’s voice in your life. Take every word back to prayer. Measure it against Scripture. Seek the leading of the Holy Spirit. God alone has the final authority over your destiny.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
Sadly, we are witnessing an abuse of spiritual gifts, especially prophecy. Pride, performance, and the desire for recognition have replaced humility and reverence in many spaces.
“For we know in part and we prophesy in part.”
1 Corinthians 13:9
No one sees the full picture but God.
Be discerning. Be rooted. Be anchored in truth.
Your future does not depend on a platform, a personality, or a prophetic voice, it rests securely in the hands of your loving Father.
“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Jeremiah 33:3
Yes, God still speaks through people.
But He speaks first, last, and most clearly to you.
Be wise. Be confident. Be secure in this truth:
God loves you, He knows you, and He speaks directly to you.
And His voice is the one that matters most.
Love,
Tricia
