Pruned for Purpose, Positioned for Abundance

Today, I invite you to imagine yourself as a branch of an olive tree—
rooted, alive, and deeply connected to the source of oil: the Holy Spirit.
Not striving.
Not grasping.
Not running dry.
Just abiding.
Jesus reminds us of this sacred connection:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
— John 15:5
As long as we remain connected, we will never lack what we need to do the work the Lord has entrusted to us.
2025: The Year of Pruning
For me, 2025 was a year of pruning.
Not punishment.
Not abandonment.
But loving, intentional cutting.
God began removing branches in my life that no longer served His purpose or aligned with His plan. Some of those branches were not bad. In fact, they bore good fruit. But good fruit is not the end goal—greater fruit is.
Scripture speaks clearly about this process:
“Every branch in Me that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
— John 15:2
Pruning hurts because it involves loss—letting go of what is familiar, comfortable, or even successful. Yet God never prunes without promise. He only removes what would limit what’s coming next.
Trusting the Gardener
Pruning requires trust.
Trust that God sees what we cannot.
Trust that His hands are skilled and His timing is perfect.
Trust that His plans are higher than our understanding.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
— Isaiah 55:8
There were moments in 2025 when I questioned the cutting—when silence felt loud and waiting felt endless. But even then, the roots were growing deeper. The oil was still flowing.
God was preparing the tree.
2026: A Season of Abundant Fruit
I believe 2026 will be a year of abundance—not just for me, but for many of us who endured the pruning.
A year where hidden growth becomes visible fruit.
A year where obedience is rewarded with overflow.
A year where faith meets fulfillment.
But abundance requires reception.
Will we receive what God is ready to release?
Will we trust Him enough to say yes—even when His blessings stretch us?
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
— Ephesians 3:20
Stepping Forward with Expectation
As we step into 2026, let us do so with excitement—not fear.
With expectation—not hesitation.
With surrendered hearts and open hands.
Let us remain connected to the Vine, confident that the same God who pruned us is the God who will prosper us in due season.
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
— Psalm 125:1
If you were pruned, take heart.
If you were stretched, stay rooted.
If you were faithful, get ready.
The fruit is coming.
